Gallop For The Gravy 5K
November 28, 2013
Gallop for the Gravy is Wilmington West Rotary's Annual 5K run benefiting local and Rotary International charities. The certified 5k course starts and ends at the Wilmington Family YMCA. It winds through the Forest Hills neighborhood, has plenty of shade and is flat. There is one water stop at about the 1/2 point. Costumes are encouraged and rewarded with a prize for the best. Island of Lights - Lighting at the Lake Celebration
November 29, 2013 
The light up ceremony officially begins the month long Island of Lights Festival! There will be a brief opening ceremony featuring the President of The Island of Lights Committee, Pleasure Island elected officials and musical entertainment. Local Cub Scouts provide the Honor Guard and display the Flag for the singing of the National Anthem. Families can walk one mile around the lake to view the beautiful lighted displays and Santa will visit the celebration! Free coca and cookies will be served prior to Light Up. Turkey Trot 4 Mile Trail Run
November 30, 2013 at 9AM
The Turkey Trot is a 4 mile trail run / walk through Carolina Beach State Park. The race begins at Carolina Beach State Park Marina. Runners will proceed on paved road and then enter well marked trails through pine forest and over wooden footbridges. Footing is generally good with occasional sand, roots and limb hazards along the trail. There will be a continuous shuttle service from race finish to breakfast / awards ceremony and from the awards back to the parking area. Register today!

Wrightsville Beach Holiday Flotilla
November 29 & 30, 2013
The 30th Annual Flotilla weekend will be held Friday and Saturday, November 29th and 30th. Flotilla has grown to become one of the top 20 events in the Southeast and a must see family weekend, attracting an estimated 50,000 people to Wrightsville Beach annually. The weekend kicks off with a Launch Party and continues with a family friendly Festival in the Park, a spectacular lighted boat parade and an incredible fireworks display!
