Wilmington North Carolina June 2012 Events

Happy June Everyone! Wilmington, NC is looking forward to a month full of free activities, kid friendly events, concerts, shows, outdoor adventures, and more. Take a glance at the exciting Wilmington events coming up this month and start making plans with family and friends today. Free Activities
Looking for FREE Wilmington activities to do with your family and friends? Enjoy free fireworks by the sea near Carolina Beach at sunset. The fireworks and gazebo entertainment are free and open to all, weather permitting. Fireworks begin at 9PM and gazebo entertainment begins at 6:30PM. Fireworks by the Sea is scheduled for June 14, 21, & 28, 2012 and there will be live performances from bands like Blivet, Mako Band, and 40 East. Visit the Poplar Grove Farmer's Market and the Carolina Beach Farmer's Market where you will find fresh food, beautiful flowers, and unique arts & crafts for sale if you wish to make a purchase. 

Kid Friendly
As the school year ends and summer begins, we invite you to check out local summer camps. At the Wild Adventures Summer Camp, children will be using Airlie's 67-acres as their classroom where wildlife, plants, and countless other organisms use the property as habitat. Visit the Airlie Gardens website for more details. Plus, Mayfaire 16 cinemas presents the 2012 Summer Kid's Movie Extravaganza. Join them every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10AM for $1.00 Kids Movies. Live Music
If you enjoy live music, Wilmington is the place to be in June 2012! Bellamy Mansion is hosting another event as part of their Jazz at the Mansion Series on June 8, 2012. Join us at 6:30PM for a live performance by Cindy Hospedales. After a special evening with Bellamy Mansion, join Airlie Gardens on June 15, 2012 from 6PM - 8PM for the next show in the Airlie Concert Series. Grenoldo Frazier will entertain with his repertoire of blues, swing, jazz, and show-tunes. Finally, the Mayfaire on the Town Summer Concert Series will feature 40 East (Today's Country) on June 15th and Selah Dub (Reggae) on June 22nd.

Nightlife in Wilmington
Check out the Brooklyn Bar! Guests will enjoy free games, free parking, and live music. Play indoor golf, ping pong, corn hole, darts, foosball, shuffleboard, and more. The Brooklyn Bar schedule changes often so look for their red flag. When it's up, they are open. You can also visit the Brooklyn Arts Center at St. Andrews website for additional details.

Outdoor Activities
Mahanaim Adventures features kayak adventures, backpacking adventures, camping adventures, team building activities, and more. If you are hoping to spend time in the outdoors this June 2012, we encourage you to check out the incredible activities offered by Mahanaim Adventures. Interested in bird tours? On any given day it's possible to see more than 30 species of birds while traversing Airlie Gardens. Bring your binoculars and enjoy a Bird Hike with Airlie Gardens on June 13, 2012. Performing Arts
There are several exciting performances coming up this month in Wilmington, NC. Experience live Shakespearean drama at the Greenfield Lake Amphitheater. Enjoy a picnic on the green while you watch a spectacular performance during the Shakespeare on the Green festival. These FREE events will entertain the entire family. Big Dawg Productions presents The Foreigner by Larry Shue this June 2012. Sergeant 'Froggy' LeSeuer arrives at a fishing lodge with his pathologically shy friend. 'Froggy' tells everyone that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. The guests speak freely around him because they assume he cannot understand their conversations and reveal more than they probably should.
