5th Annual Cold Stroke Classic
January 19, 2013
The 2013 Cold Stroke Classic will take place in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina on January 19, 2013. The course will begin and end at the Blockade-Runner Beach Resort for both divisions. All paddling for the race will be on the Intracoastal Waterway. Paddlers can opt to do the 3.5 mile Recreational course or the 7 mile Elite Course. Call 800-383-4443 for more information.
Sheppard's Battery: Defending The Left Flank

Fort Fisher's 148th anniversary program will focus on the Confederate defenders at Sheppard's Battery and around the 'Bloody Gate' on the left flank of Fort Fisher. Civil War re-enactors will set up displays of camp life, and talk with visitors about the life of the Confederate infantry and artillery troops during the January 1865 campaign.
