Haunted Pub Crawl

It's Pub Hopping With A Purpose! Hoist a pint or three & celebrate Wilmington's dark history on a 2.5 hour adventure to the city's coolest, most intriguing, "best-hidden" local pubs. Hear true ghostly & non-ghostly tales of murder, mayhem, love, lunacy, humor, debauchery & more. Ghost Walk of Old Wilmington

Join us as we traverse 275-year old alleyways littered with the spiritual debris of privateers and cutthroats. Stroll beneath a canopy of centuries old live oaks, their cryptic limbs dripping with Spanish moss, and hear tales of murder and mayhem. And if you dare, tread upon the unmarked graves of thieves, murderers and other less pitiful souls. Come hear the dismal accounts behind our most unfortunate wretches and discover the poor lost souls that still linger in the Port City. Hear tales past and present, including the most recent encounters with these spirits (many of which have occurred during past tours). With 30 active sites the tour varies nightly. Poplar Grove’s Paranormal Ghost Tour

For 4 Fridays in October, the Manor House will be open for paranormal ghost tours and in the tradition of all those porch ceilings of the South painted haint blue - to ward off those very restless souls. Spirits and haunts, or haints, of all ages from 1850-1950, continue to hover around the Manor House, particularly in the dining room, upstairs hallway and children's room. There are lots of true stories of Foy family household haints to share, including a murderous crime of passion. Come discover who these phantoms are and why they're still here. We will share a little history with you, provide a scroll of the dead and permit you to focus on a particular room or rooms for paranormal activity. Howl-O-Ween and Zombie Run

It's almost HOWL-O-WEEN! Join us for food, fun, and the Zombie Run at Hugh MacRae Park, Shelter #5--it's a paws4people "howl-o-ween" event to remember! Bring the whole family for an evening of trick-or-treating, puppy pictures, games, and more, all leading up to our annual Zombie Run! Race to the finish--and for your life!--on a one-mile course while dodging spooky Zombies. Runners will be allowed to run the 1 mile trail around Hugh MacRae Park at the speed of their choice. The course will be infested with ZOMBIES! The Zombies will be hidden along the course behind trees and bushes, popping out as the runners take the course. Zombies will attempt to retrieve flags worn by the runners. To be eligible for prizes, runners must “survive the course” with their flag intact. Batty Battleship’s Halloween Bash

Batty Battleship, brother Buggy and their friends return to the Battleship for a spooktacular trick or treating time. A lot of fun and no scares it is the best location for the family to share. But don’t be frightened and don’t you fret we promise we’ll provide a zoo with animals to pet. With candy and sweets there’s plenty of treats you’ll be asking yourself what more should I eat. Come have fun aboard the Battleship NORTH CAROLINA for the 6th annual Batty Battleship's Halloween Bash. Bring the kids to the aquarium for early Halloween trick-or-treating! Candy stations, special programs and decorations provide a fun and safe Halloween building for this event. This popular event is held on three dates from 4:30-8PM each night. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Admission is $11.00 for children and adults. Spooky Sound Paddle-Fest

The Wilmington Symphony’s Spooky Sound Paddle-Fest 2015 is a family-oriented event to raise awareness of and benefit the Wilmington Symphony’s youth education programs including the Wilmington Symphony Youth Orchestra, Junior Strings, Richard R. Deas Student Concerto Competition and Free Family Concert. The event includes standup paddle boards, canoes, kayaks, and any other non-motorized craft. The course is approximately 1 mile, starting and ending at Wrightsville SUP at 96 W. Salisbury Street with a mid-point turnaround at Palm Tree Island. Entry is $15 per person. Since it is Halloween, we will be awarding prizes for best costumes (3 prizes) and strangest craft! There will also be drawings for several cool raffle prizes. Click here for additional information.
