Hoist a pint or three inside the bowels of old Wilmington’s most actively haunted pubs. Hear eerie tales that will both shiver ye timbers & make ye laugh so hard ye’ll swab the decks. Join us as we traverse 275-year old alleyways littered with the spiritual debris of privateers and cutthroats. Stroll beneath a canopy of centuries old live oaks, their cryptic limbs dripping with Spanish moss, and hear tales of murder and mayhem. And if you dare, tread upon the unmarked graves of thieves, murderers and other less pitiful souls. Trick or Treat Under the Sea at Fort Fisher Aquarium
October 24 & 25, 2013 from 5PM - 8:30PM
During the aquatic-themed festival guests are invited to dress in costume (no masks for adults, please) and prowl the Aquarium for spooky good times. Expect shrieks of delight during Halloween-themed games. Even zombies will giggle with delight at the roving performers and two magic shows per night. Scary divers lurk among the sharks in the Cape Fear Shoals. Brave souls find an extra thrill exploring the haunted gardens and meeting live animals. The London-style double decker Wilmington Red Bus returns Halloween weekend for two spooktacular nights. The Halloween themed bar tour and costume contest is the only of its kind in the area and features four popular Wilmington pubs: Hell's Kitchen, Half Time Sports Bar, Courts & Sports and Banks Channel. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Make A Wish of Eastern North Carolina.
